Two Undip Agroecotechnology lecturers, Muhammad Iqbal Fauzan, S.P., M.Sc. and Septrial Arafat, S.P., M.P. participated in the initiation of organic-based durian Agrotourism in Sukorejo Village, Sambirejo District, Sragen Regency. This activity was a direct instruction from the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University (FPP Undip), Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang W.H.E.P., M.S., M.Agr., IPU.

The team from FPP Undip consists of five lecturers from various study programs. Hega Bintang Pratama Putra, S.T.P., M.Sc. and Dr. Heni Rizqiati, S.Pt., M.Sc. from the Food Technology Study Program, Annisa Firdauzi, S.P., M.P. from the Agribusiness Study Program, Muhammad Iqbal Fauzan, S.P., M.Sc. and Septrial Arafat, S.P., M.P. from the Agroecotechnology Study Program.

Planting of 1200 durian seedlings has taken place in Sukorejo Village. In 2023 this is the year of strengthening and maintaining the 1200 durian seedlings that have been planted. Some of the efforts that will be made to strengthen the village as an organic-based durian agrotourism are training in counseling and mentoring in the manufacture of organic fertilizers and vegetable pesticides. Besides that, the development of organic-based durian agro-tourism will also begin.

In the near future, the team from FPP UNDIP will try to calculate the Social Return on Investment (SROI). SROI is a method commonly used to measure the success of a social-environmental program. It will be seen how impactful this activity is for the community.

Dr. Heni Rizqiati, S.Pt., M.Sc. said that “Planting durian has involved dozens of farmers, but in the future we aspire to become at least one person, one durian tree. There is still a lot of homework, but we are sure that the homework will be completed soon, “said the Head of the Department of Agriculture FPP UNDIP in earnest.

“I asked a team of experts from Diponegoro University to provide both technical and planning assistance in developing Sukorejo Village, both as a tourism village and other potentials so that the village becomes more advanced and innovative. Tutur Sukrisno, S.Pd.SD, as Village Head.

In an effort to develop durian agro-tourism, the village with the assistance of FPP UNDIP also submitted funding to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Mutual Fund by providing assistance with 1200 superior durian seeds of the Montong, Bawor and Musang King types. The planting of this superior durian seed has been carried out in 2022. This activity, which is funded by the CSR Mutual Fund, will continue until the realization of Durian Agrotourism.
